Send the original sailor back to the boat

Return the sailor who entered Level 1 to the boat; the passenger’s identity matters here.

Is this your board?

If your layout differs, compare the other boards before following this route.

Two-sailor notation

A = the original sailor from Level 1. B = the companion introduced in Level 2. Left, right, up and down refer to the pictured board.

Stop after any hint. The complete route and later-state picture remain hidden below.

Hint 1What to notice

Unlike the earlier relays, the sailors are not interchangeable at this exit. Choose the original sailor as the passenger.

Hint 2What to set up

Prepare the pink stone on the upper-right land before the pad leaves. The other sailor must be able to run back to the blue stone.

Hint 3The decisive move

After the first blue-stone push, push right again when just one empty tile separates that stone from the moving pad.

  1. Choose the passenger

A must be the original sailor from Level 1. Put A on the pad. B handles both stones from the land.

  2. Prepare both steering throws

B moves the blue stone up and right into the column just left of the pad. Move pink two right, two up and six right onto the upper-right land.

  3. Launch, then turn up

B pushes blue up to move A right. As the pad passes the land, B pushes pink right to send it up into the current.

  4. Make the second steering hit

Run B left to the blue stone. Push it right, then push right again when there is exactly one empty tile between the moving stone and the pad. The pad diverts up towards the boat route.

Check your result

The original sailor is travelling back along the return route. Reaching the route with the wrong passenger does not satisfy this setup.

If your attempt went wrong

If the route is right but the character is wrong, redo the passenger selection. If the pad stays in the current, undo the second blue-stone hit and watch the one-tile gap.
