Is this your board?

Three bright horizontal current lanes run between long vertical wooden docks on the left and right.

If your layout differs, compare the other boards before following this route.

Two-sailor notation

A = the original sailor from Level 1. B = the companion introduced in Level 2. Left, right, up and down refer to the pictured board.

Stop after any hint. The complete route and later-state picture remain hidden below.

Hint 1What to notice

The same stone keeps changing sides. Its row decides whether the passenger’s pad moves up or down.

Hint 2What to set up

Set the next throw relative to the pad, not relative to the previous throwing position.

Hint 3The decisive move

The crucial leftward throw happens when B reaches the middle of the centre current.

  1. Put A aboard

A moves the stone down twice to one row below the pad and pushes right to move the pad up. Board quickly, then send the stone left to B.

  2. Bring B into the route

B moves the stone up four tiles to one row above the pad and throws right, sending the pad down into the current. A returns the stone left. B moves below the pad and throws right again, moving it up; B boards.

  3. Move B to the upper current

A places the stone in the row below the middle current. When B is halfway along that current, A throws left. B moves into the top current.

  4. Set the last collection

B pushes the stone down and right to A. A moves it up twice and right, into the column just right of the pad, then pushes up to send the pad left. Board and reach the upper-right land. B boards when it arrives at the upper-left land.

Check your result

B reaches the top lane before the final collection. A pad still looping in the middle lane means the timed leftward throw missed.

If your attempt went wrong

Reset the middle-lane timing throw and watch B’s midpoint. Avoid changing the final collection positions until the upper-lane transfer succeeds.
