Skipping Stones · Level 2 · Board 7

Use the foliage stone as your timing cue

Time a second throw against a visible landmark, then send the lower pad back towards its passenger.

A long, narrow island on the left faces a dock and red bench on the right. A foliage-covered stone sits in the central water; a purple checkpoint is above the right bank.

Two-sailor notation

A = the original sailor from Level 1. B = the companion introduced in Level 2. Left, right, up and down refer to the pictured board.

Hint 1What to notice

The foliage-covered stone in the middle is a clock you can see. Watch the moving stone pass it.

Hint 2What to set up

Prepare A’s stone one row above the first pad before B launches the bottom stone.

Hint 3The decisive move

A throws right when B’s moving stone reaches the centre of the foliage-covered stone. The pad changes direction down, then back up.

  1. Set both lanes

A touches the checkpoint. B moves the top stone down six tiles and sends the middle stone right across the water. A moves the received stone up, right and down twice, one row above the pad.

  2. Time the second throw

B stands left of the bottom stone and pushes right. As that moving stone reaches the centre of the foliage-covered stone, A pushes right. Watch the pad turn down and then back up; ride to the checkpoint.

  3. Arrange the lower ride

A moves the stone right twice, left once and then down to send the lower pad left. B stands above the other stone.

  4. Send it back and board

When the pad arrives at the dock, B pushes down to reverse it right. Board immediately and continue.

Check your result

The first pad reverses twice instead of simply travelling away. The second pad returns from the dock with a sailor aboard.

If your attempt went wrong

Use the foliage landmark, not elapsed seconds: game speed can differ. Undo the timed second throw and repeat from the same prepared positions.
