Skipping Stones · Level 2 · Board 8

Share the square current, then split up

Use one circling pad to reunite the sailors before arranging the right-hand crossing.

A square current circles open water on the left. Two small banks and a separate pair of lily pads sit farther to the right.

Two-sailor notation

A = the original sailor from Level 1. B = the companion introduced in Level 2. Left, right, up and down refer to the pictured board.

Stop after any hint. The complete route and later-state picture remain hidden below.

Hint 1What to notice

The first pad can carry one sailor past the other. Throws at two different corners open the way for the second passenger.

Hint 2What to set up

A acts at the upper-left corner; B responds when A reaches the lower-left corner.

Hint 3The decisive move

At the right-hand pair, one sailor rides while the other runs to catch a sideways throw.

  1. Start the loop

Move B up three and right two beneath the pad, then push up into the current. A boards. As A reaches the upper-left corner, push the stone down.

  2. Pick up B

When A reaches the lower-left corner, B pushes the stone up. That creates B’s boarding route. Ride around and get both sailors off on the right-hand land.

  3. Launch the right-hand pair

A steps onto the right pad. B sends the top stone left onto the pad and pushes the bottom stone right, moving both pads up.

  4. Catch the exit stone

B runs left and then down from the wooden square at the upper right. When B is in A’s row, A pushes the stone left for B to catch. Use the resulting path to continue.

Check your result

Both sailors reach the right-hand section. B must be in the receiving row before A sends the exit stone left.

If your attempt went wrong

If B cannot board the first loop, revisit the lower-left-corner throw. If the final stone misses, keep the pad setup and undo only that last throw.
