Three stones, two catches, one launch

Turn the first two throws into footholds and keep the third stone available for the launch.

Two-sailor notation

A = the original sailor from Level 1. B = the companion introduced in Level 2. Left, right, up and down refer to the pictured board.

Stop after any hint. The complete route and later-state picture remain hidden below.

Hint 1What to notice

Use the second sailor to decide where the first two stones stop.

Hint 2What to set up

B catches the bottom stone, moves up one row and catches the middle one.

Hint 3The decisive move

The last stone remains movable. Bring it down and right before throwing across the paired pads.

  1. Position the catcher

From the arrival point, move B down, four left and three down, directly opposite the bottom stone.

  2. Make two footholds

A throws the bottom stone right. B receives it and a submerged stepping point remains. Move B up; A sends the middle stone right for the second catch.

  3. Save the third stone

A throws the remaining stone right. B moves it down, uses the submerged access to reach its left side, then moves it right three and down into the row above the pads.

  4. Release both rides

B throws right across the water. The pads move down. B boards the left of the pair; A boards the other pad when it reaches the left current.

Two catches leave submerged stones along the left edge of B’s island.

Check your result

Two submerged points remain at the receiving edge, while the third stone has travelled to the launch row.

If your attempt went wrong

If the last stone sinks where you need to move it, undo that catch. B’s receiving position for the first two throws is not the final stone’s parking position.
